Small dogs, I love them. I love big dogs too, no big dog hate here, but after having 2 small dogs for the better part of 4 years, I can tell you they are awesome. First off, they are easy to transport, from going to the park, taking long road trips, visiting the family for dinner and more, it is easy to take them with you, and they adapt to any size enviroment. Second, they don’t take up the whole bed when sleeping, unlike my American Bulldog whos 120lbs took up as much space as me! Third, they fit anywhere, they cuddle easily and curl up next you in your favorite chair. Fourth, they can be more affordable, requiring less food and supplies.
A key thing to know, I don’t mind stating it over and over again, a pet may be part of your life, but you are a pets whole life. That means that dogs experience in life, is you as its owner and you get to dictate how amazing a life they have!
As a preface, Small dog breeds are generally seen as weighing under 25lbs, and standing shorter than 18 inches.

Very smart, affectionate and handle children well. They have a herding tendency so when children are playing they will try and get involved and may nip. They handle being left alone pretty well, but do require daily exercise and have a tendency to overindulge, so watch the food intake.
